Orange Coast Rod and Gun Club Bylaws

Article 1. Name and Purpose

Sec. 1. The name of this organization shall be "Orange Coast Rod & gun Club."

Sec. 2. This organization is a social club formed for purpose of encouraging conservation of fish and game and to promote good sportsmanship

Article 2. Membership of Club

Sec. 1. The membership of this club shall consist of sportsmen, eighteen years of age or older, whose interests are fishing hunting and outdoor recreation

Article 3. Method of Selecting Members

Sec 1. Application for membership shall be signed by two active members in good standing and approved by the board of directors at a regular board meeting by secret ballot. Two negative votes shall be required to disqualify an applicant.

Sec 2. Applicant shall attend three regular meetings prior to initiation

Article 4. Officers

Sec. 1. The officers of this club shall be: President, Vice President, Recording Secretary Treasurer Financial Secretary, and Sergeant at Arms

Sec. 2. All officers shall be elected by a plurality vote from annually. Nominations shall be made by the Nominating Committee and may be made from the floor the first and second meetings in January. Election of officers shall be held the first meeting in February. New officers will take charge the first meeting in March.

Sec. 2a. The President will appoint a nominating committee of three Past Presidents and four active members from the Boor, who shall select candidates for each elective office, to be present at the regular nominating meetings

Sec. 2b. No member shall be nominated for office without his prior consent. No member shall be eligible for nomination or election to any office until he shall have been a member good standing for six months at the time of nomination.

Sec. 3. Vacancy in office accruing between elections shall be filled by ballot election at the first meeting following resignation

Sec. 4 Functions of Officer:

President shall preside at all meetings, be in charge of staff and appoint committees.

Vice President shall act in Absence of President and direct all committees.

Recording Secretary shall keep minutes of meetings and be in charge of correspondence and publish club newsletter.

Financial Secretary shall receive and record all incoming funds.

Treasurer shall keep account of receipts and expenditures.

Sergeant at Arms shall maintain order at all meetings and act at the president's directions

Article 5 Board of Directors

Sec. 1. The Board of Directors shall be composed of the President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Sergeant at Arms, and immediate Past President. The club shall elect annually from its active membership five members to fill the board.

Sec. 2. Seven shall constitute a quorum.

Sec. 3. Meetings of the board of Directors shall be held on alternate weeks of club meetings.

Sec. 4 The power of the Board of Directors shall be to carry on any and all acts necessary and expedient in the transaction of the business of the club

Sec. 5. Budget and Calendar Events. It shall be the duty of the Vice President to direct and prepare an annual budget and calendar of events by April 1st of each year. Said budget shall state the amount of funds to be raised during said year and also the allocation of said funds to the committees and functions of the organization. Committees may draw funds so allocated from the treasury, if available upon request of the committee chairman. Any unused funds drawn, or profits made by a committee shall be returned to the General Fund

Article 7 Meetings

Sec. 1. Regular meetings of die club shall be held on die second and fourth Thursdays of each month or as directed by the President

Article 8. Dues and Initiation Fee

Sec. 1. Initiation fee shall be Thirty dollars.

Sec. 1a. Dues are thirty-five dollars for twelve months payable in advance. The period is from the first day of March until the last day of February inclusive.

Sec. 1b. Dues for new members accepted after die first day of September shall be twenty dollars.

Sec. 2. Member's two months in arrears will receive a reminder of dues from die financial Secretary.

Sec. 3 Members three months in arrears in dues shall be dropped from the membership.

Sec. 4. A member who has been dripped for non- payment of dues may be reinstated by making application to the Board of Directors and by paying delinquent dues not to exceed dues for one year.

Sec. 5. Any member sixty-two years of age or older and been a member in good standing for five years may become a life member with the approval of the Board of Directors.

Article 9. By-Laws

Sec. 1. These by-laws shall be amended by the reading of the amendment at two successive regular meetings and voted on at the third meeting

Sec. 1a. Proposed amendments shall be presented to the Board of Directors in writing for recommendations prior to the reading at meetings.

Sec. 2. This club shall never have the power to disband it self while seven members are willing to continue.

8«. 3. In the event of dissolution, the holdings shall be given to a charitable institution or some similar sportsman's organization.

Article 10 Rules

Sec. 1. No person shall be allowed in meetings who are under the influence of liquor. No member shall be allowed to use profane or improper language in the meetings or club gatherings, indulge in personalities, or disrupt the meeting in any manner. The President shall have the power to fine any member who violates this section as he sees fit, the fine being not less than twenty-five cents nor; more than fifty cents

Sec. 2. Withdrawal: Any member may withdraw by notice in writing to the Recording Secretary, but no withdrawal shall be accepted by the club if the member is in arrears for dues or otherwise. Upon any member is in ceasing to be a member, all his interest in the property of the club shall be vested in the club

Sec. 2a Reinstatement: approval of the Board of Director and payment of current dues may reinstate any member or withdrawal

Article 11 Parliamentary

Sec. 1. The President with the approval of the Board of Directors shall appoint a Parliamentarian.

Sec. 1a. The Parliamentarian shall decide all questions and rules of order

Sec. 2.Robert's Rules of Order Revised shall be the authority upon all questions not covered by the constitution and by- laws
